This runs on the factory parts catalogue — every assembly, every line item, with the model years each one applies to and whether you can actually order it on its own. Where the number is dead, owners' substitutions are recorded alongside it.
Type it the way you would post it to the group. This searches all 2,816 pages of the manual and the parts catalogue at once, then shows you the procedures, diagrams, codes and torque values that bear on it. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

Which is worth knowing in itself. This index covers the 2014 manual and the factory parts catalogue, so it has nothing on pricing, availability, who has one in stock, or anything the factory never wrote down. Try fewer words and the name of the part, or post it to the group — the owners have fixed things the manual does not mention.
Ask the owners group →The year filters the catalogue, because the factory coded year applicability into every line. Fuel and trim shape the advice below it.
Decoded in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you press Check recalls, which sends only the model year to NHTSA. It reads year, series, engine, fuel, body type, weight rating and build plant, and sets the page up from them. Skip it and answer the questions below instead; the catalogue works exactly the same either way.
{{ vinBody }}
Decoded against the chart on page 45 of the 2014 owner's manual, PT019021.
Asks NHTSA, the federal safety agency, for every recall filed against this model year. Recall repairs are free at an MV‑1 dealer. To see whether your own van's repair was already done, check the VIN on NHTSA's site.
{{ recallErr }}
NHTSA lists no recalls for this model year.
Search by number or description, or work down through the sections the way the manual does. Everything shown applies to your model year.

The factory never sold it separately. Salvage, fabricate, or buy whatever larger piece contains it.
Comes only as part of a bigger assembly. Where the catalogue names that assembly's number, this page shows it to you.
Sold inside a kit. Ordering the kit is the only route, and it usually brings hardware you also need.
Drawn on this diagram but catalogued elsewhere. Search the description to find the section that owns it.
Source: the MV‑1 parts list by model year, as published by the factory — 596 assemblies and 5,120 line items across 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The three service codes are printed in the catalogue as abbreviations without a legend; the readings above are inferred from how they are used, and TOP‑002181 confirms S.I.A. sitting in the part‑number column of a part you cannot buy.
{{ dtcIntro }}
A generic OBD-II reader pulls P codes from the engine only. The B, C and U codes here live in the restraints module, the brake module, the smart junction box and the cluster — you need a scan tool that talks to Ford body and chassis modules to see them at all.
Codes stored as history without being current are usually not a reason to replace anything. The procedures say so repeatedly.

Aftermarket parts recorded against the MV‑1 number they replace, each carrying how well it is established. The distinction matters more than the part: one of these is someone's own repair, another is a guess that looks right on paper.

Source: MV‑1 Parts Cross‑Reference v1, dated 18 January 2022, compiled by Tim Addams and shared with the owners' community. The confidence key is his. If a later version exists, it supersedes this — the group is the place to ask.
Paste any number — MV‑1, Ford, or aftermarket — and open the same search at every retailer at once. Search in the catalogue above loads a number straight in.
The chain retailers mostly don't carry MV‑1 in their fitment data, so a PT or SP number often returns nothing there while the Ford donor number returns plenty. Try both. Every link opens a live search in a new tab — no result means that retailer has no listing, not that the search failed.
Enter a number above to arm these links.
The catalogue tells you the MV‑1 number. It does not tell you when a Ford number will do instead, or when substituting will get somebody hurt. System by system, that judgement.
| System | Buy it as | How far the cross goes | Trust |
|---|---|---|---|
| Engine — 4.6L V8 2011–2014, all CNG |
Ford 4.6L SOHC Modular V8 — Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln Town Car | Internals, timing, ignition, sensors and gaskets cross on the engine family. Mounts, hoses, exhaust and accessory routing are MV‑1‑specific — and the catalogue proves it, keeping them in their own sections. | Strong |
| Engine — 3.7L V6 2015–2016 gasoline |
Ford 3.7L Ti‑VCT V6 — Edge, Explorer, Flex, Taurus, F‑150, Mustang, Lincoln MKS / MKT / MKZ | Very well supported. The catalogue carries a parallel set of 3.7L sections, right down to its own transmission crossmember and suspension cradle — so match the section, not just the engine. | Strong |
| Transmission | 4R70W / 4R75E four‑speed (V8 vans) · 6R80 six‑speed (V6 vans) | Both are volume Ford units. Internals, filters, solenoids and valve bodies cross. Remanufactured units are stocked by the chain retailers under the MV‑1 listing. | Strong |
| Brakes & suspension | MV‑1 numbers first | The chassis is Panther‑derived but the van weighs about 6,600 lb, roughly 60% more than a Crown Victoria. Springs, shocks, pads and rotors are rated differently even where they bolt up. Do not substitute Crown Victoria parts here. | Verify |
| ABS / TCS | MV‑1 hub numbers · module by VIN | Both lamps usually light from one wheel‑speed input, so diagnose before buying. Modules appear on used listings as 1600784 and 1589332 — match by VIN, and read TSB 16‑12‑02 first. | Verify |
| Ramp & in‑floor mechanism | ASC — American Specialty Cars — via wheelchair‑van parts suppliers | Integrated into the floor structure at build. Nothing crosses to Ford. Motors, control modules, harnesses and keyfob receivers are trim‑specific — search the catalogue above for the ramp assemblies rather than guessing. | MV‑1 only |
| Body electrical | Mixed — some Ford numbers appear directly in the catalogue | The blower motor relay is catalogued as 9L2T14B192AA, a Ford number orderable from any Ford dealer, usually below the specialist price. Check the format: a Ford number runs four characters, then letters and digits — nothing like PT or SP. | Verify |
| Body panels & glass | Salvage, NOS, or nothing | The body was tooled for this vehicle alone. No other production vehicle shares a panel, door glass, windshield or exterior trim piece. Decommissioned taxi and paratransit fleet vans are the realistic source. | MV‑1 only |
| Interior & tie‑downs | MV‑1 numbers, trim‑specific | SE and DX are heavy‑duty vinyl; LX is leather with wood‑grain trim, and those panels are LX‑only — the catalogue writes the trim into the description. Floor anchor rails are factory‑installed and MV‑1‑specific. | MV‑1 only |
| Fuel system — CNG | CNG‑specific only | Factory‑fitted, not a conversion: three Type‑3 tanks, its own regulators, lines, injectors and calibration. The catalogue separates every CNG section for exactly this reason. | Never cross |
Ordered by what each one is actually good for, not by size.
Lists MV‑1 PT and SP numbers directly, including ramp and body items. Published list is partial — call for the rest.
parts.tescobus.comCarries MV‑1 under its own make listing for selected years. The starting point for any engine, transmission or Ford‑numbered electrical part.
parts.ford.comBoth catalogue MV‑1 by year and engine. Best for filters, brakes, batteries, belts, wipers and remanufactured transmissions.
napaonline.comWhere fleet teardowns surface: ramp motors, ABS modules, hubs, trim. Cross‑list your search under both VPG and Mobility Ventures — sellers use one or the other.
ebay.comTurbo Auto Parts and Car Part Planet stock MV‑1 engines and long blocks with parts warranties. Confirm which powertrain before ordering — a 2015 could be either.
turboautoparts.comAero Mobility in Anaheim and Wheelchair Vans Inc in Lake Forest both service ramps and lifts. MobilityWorks has a national locator. Ask whether they have had an MV‑1 in before booking.
mobilityworks.comMost of it. The body, chassis, brakes, suspension, steering, doors, latches and the wheelchair ramp carried through the whole 2011–2016 run largely unchanged, so those procedures, torque values and diagrams apply across every year.
The powertrain is where it stops. Early vans run the 4.6L Ford V8, with a CNG option; the 3.7L V6 and its six‑speed arrived for 2015. Engine, transmission, fuel and emissions work on a 2015 or 2016 needs its own book — and anything year‑specific here should be checked against the part that comes off your van.
Share your knowledge to help other MV‑1 owners keep these essential vehicles going.
Nobody is building these any more and nobody is publishing new information about them. What is left is what owners write down and pass on. The substitutions table above exists for exactly that reason. Everything you have learned keeping your van on the road is worth more than anything a PDF can say, because you have had it apart.
Corrections to this page, a part number that turned out wrong, a fix worth adding, or a question the search could not answer. Photographs and part numbers off the old piece help more than anything.
